“Do You Take Totally Unfit, Fat Old Guys?”

Harry laughed when he told us this.

But he was serious when he first asked the question.

Harry had been watching MEE-FIT for a long time.

Interested. Curious.

But unsure whether he belonged here.

Like many people, life had slowly piled up around him.

A full-time job.

Two small businesses on the side.

Getting older.

Feeling increasingly overwhelmed.

Starting something new—especially fitness—felt like a big step.

So he picked up the phone and asked the question that had been sitting in his head:

“Do you take totally unfit, fat old guys?”

The answer, of course, was yes.

And that conversation was enough to open the door.

What Happened Next

Harry joined our 12-week Revitalised programme, designed to help people rebuild strength, improve health, and regain confidence in a supportive environment.

Twelve weeks later, the changes surprised even him.

Harry reduced his visceral fat by over 30%, bringing it close to a healthy level. That alone significantly lowered his risk of conditions like Type 2 diabetes.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Eighteen years ago, Harry had surgery for colon cancer.

Because of that, nutrition has always been complicated.

During his time at MEE-FIT, Claire worked closely with him to understand his situation and adapt his nutrition in a way that suited his body.

In Harry’s words, the conversations he had here about food and health were more helpful than anything he’d been given in the previous 18 years.

A New Lease of Life

What Harry talks about most now isn’t the fat loss.

It’s how he feels.

More confident.

More optimistic.

More appreciative of each day.

His words summed it up perfectly:

“This experience has given me a new lease of life.”

The Power of the Right Environment

One thing Harry emphasised repeatedly was the atmosphere inside MEE-FIT.

Sessions are small.

Training is tailored to the individual.

And everyone supports each other.

That combination makes it possible for people who never thought of themselves as “fitness people” to finally feel comfortable starting.

As Harry put it:

“Even if you’re someone who doesn’t do fitness at all… there’s something here for you.”

Thinking About Starting?

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines like Harry once did, you’re not alone.

Many people spend months—or even years—wondering if they should start.

The truth is, you don’t need to feel ready.

You just need a place that meets you where you are.

And that’s exactly what we try to create at MEE-FIT.

If you’re curious about what’s possible for you, the first step is simply a conversation.

No pressure. Just a chance to talk about where you are and where you’d like to be.
